Dam / Reservoir Engineer (Associate / Director level) - United Kingdom & Scotland

A global consultancy currently has a requirement for an All Reservoir Panel engineer or an individual who’s currently working towards achieving / applying ARPE status to begin immediately due to the extensive level of projects currently being undertaken, the Dam or Reservoir Engineer will ideally be at Associate / Director level although they would consider Principal level engineers’ interested in proceeding to the next level.

An All Reservoirs Panel Engineer is a civil engineer qualified to design and supervise the construction and alteration of, to inspect and report, to supervise and certify the carrying into effect of recommended safety measures, and to act for the purposes of Section 16 (emergency powers) on all reservoirs to which the Reservoirs Act 1975 applies. They can also act as supervising engineers for all reservoirs to which the Act applies and act as referees under Section 19.

The role will include:

• Technical direction of dam and reservoir schemes
• Business Development
• Preparation of Section 10 and Section 12 reports under the Reservoirs Act 1975
• Responsibility and accountability for client relations (internal and external)
• Representation of the company and/or the reservoir industry at high levels nationally and internationally
• Responsibility for project delivery as a Project Manager and/ or Project Director
• Identification of need and supervision of research and development initiatives
• Reporting to Directors

Job requirements are as follows:

• Degree in Civil Engineering
• Chartered Engineer
• Experience as a Qualified Civil Engineer/ All Reservoirs Panel Engineer under the Reservoirs Act 1975
• Responsible for delivery of reports, drawings and projects to time and budget
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to facilitate technical and professional development of staff
