Project Manager: International Ecologist - France

A reputable, well-established Engineering & Infrastructure consultancy are widening their ESI team and looking to hire an experienced professional for their Water, Africa & Middle East division. The Environment and Social International (ESI) team is a team of environmental and social experts who interact with the technical departments of the company (energy, hydraulic, maritime, construction, etc.).

They carry out environmental and social impact studies for public and private projects of different scales. The office is also involved in project management assistance and site monitoring. The team’s work is oriented abroad, mainly in Asia and Africa. You will carry out and supervise teams in the context of often large-scale projects and bring environmental and ecological expertise.

Your responsibilities are:

  • Carry out and supervise environmental engineering projects: environmental and social impact study, management plan, biodiversity study, environmental management of construction sites and international assistance.
  • Bring expertise in ecology and biodiversity management to projects (identification of issues, assessment of impacts, sizing of avoidance, reduction and compensation measures)
  • Master international standards and more specifically, IFC performance standard 6 concerning the protection and conservation of biodiversity, the maintenance of ecosystem services and the sustainable management of living natural resources.
  • Ensure the framing and monitoring of subcontractors and naturalist experts for export for the realization of fauna / flora inventories and / or ecological monitoring.
  • Participate in the realization of commercial offers in collaboration with the Project Directors from different activities.
  • Develop and contribute to the methodological development of the team's offers and actions in these areas.


  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the field
  • Essential skills in ecology & management of biodiversity, knowledge of international standards (WB, IFC, ADB)
  • You also have a look at other disciplines that are interconnected with the management of biodiversity: hydro-ecology, hydro-morphology or ecological engineering.
  • You know how to lead a project team, interact with the group, facilitate communication in general.
  • Fluent English required & One-off international travel, short-term missions in the field.

Gross salary: up to €50,000 Euro’s per annum negotiable depending on experience & qualifications.
