Project Director - Urban Hydraulics & Solid Waste - Rhone-Alps (France)

An International Water & Waste business consultancy requires an engineer and director for projects in the fields of Urban Hydraulics & Solid Waste with at least 10 years’ experience to be based in Rhone-Alps area of France.

Role & Responsibilities:

• As director of projects outside France you will oversee design studies (feasibility studies – detailed designs – preparation of tender documents - assistance with the evaluation of contractors’ bids and the award of works contracts) and/or be in charge of supervising working design studies, monitoring works implementation and assisting with commissioning. Good knowledge of FIDIC contracts is essential.
• You will manage multi-disciplinary teams of engineers and technicians both in France and in other countries. You will be in charge of handling client relations and of managing the technical, contractual and financial aspects of projects.

• Your duties will also include business development (canvassing prospective clients and partners, preparing proposals), mainly on international markets, in coordination with the business unit’s management team.

• Ideally you will hold a degree in Civil or Hydraulic engineering and be able to demonstrate 15 to 20 years of experience in the field of engineering.

• You must be able to demonstrate extensive experience of working in Africa and the Middle East on projects financed by funding agencies.

• Self-sufficient and with excellent interpersonal skills, you must have a proven ability to manage a project team, coordinate multiple stakeholders and handle large-scale international projects, including their technical, contractual and client relations aspects.

• Since the position is based in France and includes assignments in other countries, fluent French and English are essential.

Salary & Package:

The Gross basic salary on offer is +58,000 Euro’s per annum (reliant on experience & qualifications), they also offer an excellent package that includes: Bonus, Profit sharing, Family Healthcare, Pension, 5 weeks paid leave, Travel allowance, Flexible benefit scheme and relocation costs for the chosen candidate.
