Hydraulic Structures Resident Engineer - Pakistan

Be part of a huge construction team working with an international engineering consultancy based in Pakistan working on a +3 Billion USD Hydropower & Dam project.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Review and approve the design for hydraulic steel structures such as gates, valves, and stop logs at the dam and appurtenant structures to be submitted by the Contractor.
  • Review and approve the design to be submitted by the Contractor for hydraulic steel structures such as gates and valves in those tunnels as power tunnels with inlet, penstock steel, and tailrace tunnels with outlet.
  • Carry out supervising installation and testing of hydraulic steel structure work at the dam and appurtenant and along the waterway in terms of progress control, cost, quality, risk, safety, environment, claim and others.
  • Check the Contractor's plant, equipment, manpower and construction materials through daily inspection and monitoring.
  • Carry out factory inspection for the whole hydraulic steel structure’s work and prepare inspection report.
  • Cooperate with the other experts on the preparation, implementation, and supervision of daily activities.
  • Check the Contractor's monthly statement for payment related to the whole hydraulic steel structure work.
  • Assist and cooperate with the Contract Engineer to issue variation orders for the whole hydraulic steel structure’s work.
  • Maintain construction records of the whole hydraulic steel structure’s work.
  • Assist and cooperate with the Resident Engineer and Contract Engineer for claim settlement for the whole hydraulic steel structure’s work.
  • Prepare and submit the required reports and documents, including the O&M manual and the completion report in general
  • Conduct transfer of Knowledge to the Client's staff.

The following criteria is essential for the selected candidate:

  • Experience as a Hydraulic Structural Engineer (Steel) as a Resident for a large hydropower construction project.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Hydraulic Engineering.
  • International experience working on hydropower / dam construction sites as a Resident.
