A picturesque and idyllic location working on a massive Hydro & Dam project in a beautiful country, too good to be true??  

….It’s happening. The project is being developed by the dominant electricity utility in Malaysia. They have a deep understanding of hydro projects, stemming from their strong track record of constructing and operating numerous hydro power plants in Peninsular Malaysia. Located close too but NOT daily commutable to Kuala Lumpur in a small village with basic local amenities.

The acting project consultant and owners engineer requires a Senior Civil Resident Engineer (Powerhouse & Structures) to start immediately for a period of 12 x months with potential extensions based on performance. Specific details regarding suitable experience includes the following:

Experience Required:

• Degree in Civil Engineering (or a comparable Degree, ideally Masters’)
• At least 15 x years of experience within Hydro & Dam Engineering construction (specifically RCC, Powerhouse & Structures).
• Experience working in developing countries, specifically Asia would be ideal but not essential.
• Able to work in multi-national and multi-disciplinary work teams.
• Fluent in English

Description of services:

• Construction Supervision of slope Excavation; Concrete works; River Diversion Works of the Powerhouse
• Coordination of E&M and Civil Works
• Lead supervision of all aspects of Intake; Main Power Station & Auxiliary building.
• Consultation with Lead Designers & Contract Managers on project changes
• Construction Schedule Control
• Client Liaison
• Leading & Coaching young engineers at site.

Salary & Package

Freelance consultancy contract offering a Basic Salary of 11,000 USD NET per month (Based on experience & qualifications) and a package that includes: Fully Furnished Accommodation Allowance + Relocation Costs + 2 x Return Air Ticket Per Annum.
