Join an international junior hydropower project and participate in building a small hydro project in Africa. This is 10MW project which will include the design, supply, construction, erection, testing and commissioning of hydropower generating facilities complete with power lines.
Your role as Civil Engineer will include the dams and waterworks:
Main duties:
- Checking and verifying the execution of civil engineering projects (dimensioning, plans, topography, geotechnics), proposing execution methods and planning, checking laboratory tests.
- Preparing, coordinating and supervising the execution of civil engineering works on the dams - grit chambers, laying GRP pipes and penstocks, balance chimney, plant, pylon foundations.
- Drawing up of works reports and completion plans
- Assistance with acceptance of work carried out
- Attendance at regular site meetings.
The necessary qualification include:
- Degree in Civil Engineering
- At least 15 years’ experience and 10 in similar projects (construction of small hydro projects as a Civil Engineer
- Experience of working in Africa
- Knowledge of civil engineering design in small hydro
- You will ideally be able to communicate in French and English
What they will offer you:
The salary is TBD but will likely fall under $60,000 USD per annum. They are looking for a person to join the company for this project for 20 months with the possibility that this will be a long term hire to support their other projects.
